The National Unity Government (NUG) reports that the armed resistance groups in Chin state have captured 9 Myanmar military camps within just 2 years.

In the first year when the armed revolution started, only one military camp in Chin State was captured, but in the second year, up to 8 military council camps were raided and captured, according to the National Unity Government press release.


Between September 2021 and August 2022, there were 304 fights in Chin State, and 249 fights between September 2022 and August 2023. A total of 553 battles took place in Chin State, the report said.

The report also added that about 30,000 of the Myanmar military soldiers were killed in 9,900 clashes throughout the country just in 2 years. The NUG estimated that the Myanmar military manpower could be around 225,000-240,000, including the navy and air forces.
