Over 1.9 million people in Myanmar are forced to flee due to armed conflicts according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on the 8th of September.

Over 1.9 million people in Myanmar are forced to flee due to armed conflicts according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported on the 8th of September.

Among them 1.6 million are newly displaced due to the armed conflict as a result of the military coup in February 2021.

Reports indicate that military operations have intensified across the country. The ongoing humanitarian crisis is exaggerated by the recent Mocha cyclone in Rakhine and chin state.

During that period, the largest number of displaced persons came from Sagaing Region and Chin State in northwestern Myanmar, as well as Kayah and Karen States in the southeast, according to OCHA statistics.
