Over three hundred Chin refugees in India have been granted exit visas to Australia

More than 300 Chin refugees who were stuck in India for more than 15 years were now granted exit permit visas, according to local news outlet Zalen. "This has nothing to do with the newcomers who arrived following the military coup," said CHRO as quoted by Zalen.

According to Zalen, the Chin Human Rights Organisations (CHRO) and the Chin Refugee Council (CRC) requested support from Western Australian MP Dean Smit to advocate for the Indian government.

The Indian government granted exit permit visas after meeting three times between the Indian government and representatives from Chin organisations, including the Chin Christian Council of Australia (CCCA), the Australia Chinland Club (ACC), the Australia Chin Federation (ACF), the Chin Human Rights Organisation (CHRO), and MP Dean Smith.
