Residents of Kalay city have reported that Kale Town, Sagaing Division, has been without schools and shops since September 7.
According to a local who spoke with the Zo Globe, many homes are flooding and some property has been destroyed as a result of the excessive water incursion.
Schools are also closed today despite the fact that exams are taking place.
"My children went to school, but they arrived to find the entrance flooded. A local resident told the Zo Globe, "Despite the fact that there is an exam today, the teachers instructed her to return to school the following day."
